Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Massachusetts
What court do I file in?
I was arrested. I was charged with felony A/B. Charges eventually dismissed, but I was maliciously prosecuted even though they had to have known the accusation was a lie (and I can prove that the police did know, whether the DA's office knew, I'm not so sure). Now I want to file a lawsuit against the city, I was arrested without probable cause, and I can prove it.
What court do I file a lawsuit in against the city? Civil lawsuit? And how do I calculate damages (and by damages I'm talking about defamation of character, false arrest, lost time at work to attend court, etc, etc.)

Re: What court do I file in?
You can file in either in the federal district court or state superior court
Before I could give you a reasonable number I would have to hear more about the facts.
Understand in today's legal world few cases go to trial but rather are settled.
