Threats to my character
I'm a bisexual man, who is in the closet. I've met another man , and we had sexual relations for a while. I called him ''femme'' when we were chatting online and I didn't mean any offense. Also I said I didn't want to see him again. With those words he was upset. But then he threatened to bring my sexuality ''out'' by visiting my parent's house and posting stuff about me on the web about my sexuality. I am not out and I live my sexuality discreetly. Is this a case of defamation, blackmailing, or something? I felt really threatened. What can I do?

Re: Threats to my character
As I read your description, ou may have a cause of action for invasion of privacy. In defamation, truth is a defense against such action. If he seeks something in return for keeping quiet, it could be a form of extortion. If he threatens physical harm or has physically harmed, you could file for a restraining order. All these avenues are available, if at all, after the information is out. You could have an attorney write him a letter informing him that his contemplated actions could subject him to civil actions, and to financial damages.
