Legal Question in Construction Law in Massachusetts

siding not finished on home

We hired a man to do some siding on our house. He finished 2/3 of the work, got two thirds of the pay and stopped. He stated in contract it would be done by 9-1-07, then balance was due and he did not complete work. We now have a home that has been sided 2/3, The remainder of the home is bare exposed wood. Even the gutters re off the home. What can i hope to get in small claims court. Balance due on job is only 1000 dollars. Is he responsable for fixing our home to the original state or just cash from completion of job.

Thank You for your help

Go the the MA Attorney General Web site. Under Consumer Protection, look for the Info about the Residential Home Improvement Contractor Statute and the options available to you under it.

Alternatively, look at my prior answers on this topic in Law Guru, probably under the category of Construction Law and/or Consumer Protection categories.
