Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

Auto repair

The shop I dropped my truck off at to have my engine replaced continued with the work after I told them not to as I was told my auto ins. may pay for it. They said the adjuster told them to continue and they did. They also moved my truck from the shop I dropped it off at to another without notifying me of this. My Ins. claim is still pending as to they want to inspect the eng. and oil filter as that is what let go and siezed the eng. But the old one was already returned for the coe charge. I want to know what I am liable for payment now as the Ins. would pay about 2500 at another shop with lower rates and they want about 3600 for the repair. Thank you for your help.

Re: Auto repair

It is hard to tell.

Technically, the shop can do no more than the agreement. There may some latitude when an adjuster is involved.
