Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts
Automobile trade in dispute
I went to a dealership looking for a new car. My current car had transmission problems. I picked out the car that I wished to purchase and asked the dealer what he would offer for my car. They offered me $3000 for my trade in without even driving the car. I paid cash for the car minus the $300 for the trade. 2 days after I bought the new car the dealership contacted me and said that the car I traded was no good and that they wanted $3000 that they allowed for the trade. Am I obligated to pay them this money?

It depends on what the agreement between you and the dealer said.
The best approach is to have an attorney review all of the documents between you and the dealer.
