Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts
Billed for XXX web site
My teen son accessed a porn web site for what he thought was a free trial. He used my credit card # and password but didn't cancel after the trial period and I was hit with charges totalling $140.I petitioned the billing company for a refund as the site was accessed only once and assured them this was not a fraudulent scam on my part. They denied my request and now I'm stuck paying this debt on my credit card.It just doesn't seem fair they can get away with charging for a service that wasn't used.Their site was only accessed out of a teenager's curiosity.

Re: Billed for XXX web site
You do not mention anywhere that he used the card without your permission. Since he apparently did have your permission, you're stuck paying for his curiousity and his irresponsibility in not cancelling it pursuant to the terms of the site.
