Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

Business Fraud

I just purchased a puppy from a woman who was using a fake name (and found out the puppy has an illness). A couple of days later I found out that she acutally owns a pet store (under her real name) and has numerous violations/complaints against her. Had I known her real name, I would not have purchased a puppy from her. Is there a way to put her out of business for fraud? She also has a couple of other names she goes by to sell dogs. Thank you.

Re: Business Fraud

This is clearly a form of fraud. The question is not whether you have rights; it is whether she will have assets to satisfy any judgment you may obtain.

You should bring this to the attention of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office and its New Hampshire counterpart.
