Child support

Since Massachusetts is a commonwealth state, are they govern by Federal Laws? In particular, does Massachusetts fall under Federal guidelines for Child support?

The fact that any of the 50 states may refer to themselves as Commonwealths (such as Pennsylvania and Virginia)is irrelevant for the purpose of complying with Federal law.
