Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

contract

9 yrs ago my parents bought a house and got help to fix it up by the community housing and development dept. they put 20000 into the home with the promise that they would have to keep it for 10yrs. my dad passed away and now 9 yrs since the contract between them and the city she sold me the house. at the closing she had to pay the 20000. but now i have the housing development calling me saying i now have to finish the contract which end in oct. i dont understand why cause she already payed the 20000. and i had nothing to do with the contract nor have i ever signed anything or even seen the contract. i was never told i had to take it over before or after the closing. is this legal?

Re: contract

I'm not completely sure what your concern about. With that being said, is the housing asking you to keep the home a few more months without selling or are they expecting you to also pay 20,000? If you have already purchased the home, and their saying you have to keep it for a year what is the problem? Were you buying it to sell or live in? Please clarify your concerns.
