Are email estimates legal

I had work done by an electrician & wanted an estimate on additional work. He emailed me the estimate with his signature on it. Received the invoice and it was 105% over estimate. Are emails considered an acceptable document if we end up in small claims? Thank you for your assistance

Yes. I would consider an email transmission to be good evidence in this case.
