Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts
Maximum Inn
SHem and Nadine Maslov live in Massachusetts, saw an advertisement in the Boston GLobe for vacationers tha was sponsored by a national hotel chain: '' Stay in Maximum Inns' beach front hotel in Puerto Rico for one week for only $400: continental breakfast included.'' THe MAslov's decided to accept the offer and spent a week at the hotel. On the last day, Nadine fell on a wet floor in the hotel lobby and sustained multiple fractred to her left ankle and hip. Bcause of the injuries, which were subsequently complicated by infections, she was unable to work at her job as a flight attendant for ten months. The hotel chain does not do business in Massachusetts. If Nadine sues Maximum Inns in a Massachusetts State Court, can the court exercise jurisdiction over Maximum Inns? What factors should the court consider in deciding this jurisdictional issue?

Re: Maximum Inn
I am assuming the hotel was the advertiser. There is a statute called long arm where you can sue another in state court for actions that occurred out of the state. You should review the ad, and the other actions with a personal injury attorney. You can call me at my office tomorrow.
Re: Maximum Inn
I forgot to add one fact, thee is a statute of limitiation, a time within which you must file your action, otherwise you can be barred for pursuing it.
