Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts
merchandise order from two years ago
I went to an eye doctor in 2006 and ordered contacts. They took forever ordering them and getting back to me to tell me they were in. So I went else where and got them. Today I got a invoice in the mail for the contacts.. two years later! Is this legal? Can it hurt my credit if I don't pay them? Am I legally bound to pay them?

Did you ever receive the lenses? Did you ever cancel your order prior to delivery? You may have rights under M.G.L. Chapter 93A for unfair and deceptive practices and under the federal
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
You should consult with a consumer oriented lawyer.

It depends on your agreement. Generally, if you order something, you assume responsibility. If you did not pick these up, you should advise the seller.
