Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

Overcharged by my Electric Company

It has come to our attention that our electric company has been over charging us for our usage.

Our bills average around $150 a month. I spoke to a cs rep, she asked if the current bill showed a 'demand fee', I said yes, in 3 separate places, and if I added them up they were equal to 49.6% of the bill. She said that we were, in fact, being charged a higher business rate. I inquired as to how they may try to compensate us for the over charging for the last 16 years and she said that their liability only goes back 6 months, since there was no record of my calling to complain about my bills (however their historical records only went back 5 years...)

I need to know if we are entitled to compensation for the last 16 years and would any lost interest or potential growth be owed to us also?

Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
