Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts
Separate contract law
I was wondering if in a verbal contract between two parties, one of the parties could legally bind the other party into a separate contract with a third party? If this is illegal (I am under the assumption that it is) could you please site for me the law in which this falls under?
Thank you for your time.

Re: Separate contract law
No, the third party cannont enforce the contract against you unless you gave your assent. Oral contracts are enforceable but not under a lot of circumstances, e.g., an agreement about land must be in writing, there are others. There is no specific "law" about this type of contract situation, the only way the law gets involved is if the 3rd party sues you to enforce the contract your frind made.
