Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

Small Claims Court

I am thinking about taking a Moving Company to small claims court for extremely poor service and damaged furniture. How do I find out if I have a real case? I don't know if this is worth my time and effort as I have been dealing with this since November.

Re: Small Claims Court

Although the small claims court and procedure are designed to give you an opportunity to pursue your rights without an attorney, the only way to really evaluate your case is to call a licensed attorney.

Generally speaking, you will need to be able to prove "damages" that are not speculative. It may be very difficult to evaluate the damages to used furniture.

That said, feel free to contact me for a free initial consultation. An attorney may be able to take your claim on a contingency fee basis, which means you do not pay legal fees until there is a successful recovery.
