timeshares
If one has a paid up timeshare and cannot sell it and wants to stop paying monthly maintenance fees, is there any legal action the resort can take against the owner.

This should be spelled out in the timeshare ownership agreement legal documents. Assuming the documents have language applicable to this situation, it will probably favor the other side, not you. But you need to know what the governing rules are in this situation, if they exist in the documents.
If there is no language therein applicable to the situation (or similar situations, or arguably controlling), the answer is probably yes.
