Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

I have a title for a boat that was purchased

I have purchased a boat tentively from a seller in the state of VT. The sale was made in the state of MA in Chelsea. The boat was for $4500.00, I paid $2,000.00 by check and $500.00 in cash. I have the seller a check for $2000.00 and I found out the boat was junk 2 days later, I stopped pmt on the boat and I have tried to get my $2500.00 back and have not been able too. The boat is in the water and I have the title. Leagally, who owns the boat?

See my reply at : http://www.lawguru.com/cgi/bbs/mesg.cgi?i=510508405

and then write to me with the missing info, i.e., how much the boat with the bad motor is worth.

You need to hire a lawyer (perhaps in Chelsea or where you live) to get some basic facts documented and communicated to the sellers or else to bring fraud charges upon them in one fashion or another.

Again, good for you stopping the check in time!

Hurray!
