2nd arrest warrant

I received a phone call today telling me I have 2 arrest warrants in regards to creditor. I didnt receive 2nd notice someone must have lost or threw away anyway Im freaking out I called the sherriff but cannot make it the next day will this affect me and also I do not want to got to jail please help.

The sheriff will usually arrange a mutually agreeable time to meet you in court and deal with the issue. Remember, you can't be arrested for not paying a debt; you can only be arrested for violating a court order- like not showing up for a hearing.

My experience with these sheriffs is pretty good. They are usually very cooperative (at least with lawyers). Try to call him/her again. It is important to make contact ASAP.

You might want to call a lawyer about resolving the debt through bankruptcy or negotiation.

It seems you may havea civil arrest warrants ( capias) against you for failure to appear at a scheduled show cause hearing, for which you purportedly had no notice of. Please feel free to contact my office for a free intitail consult based on the facts of your specific situation.;))
