Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

i had an accident in jan 1,2006 and so i went to see a physical therapy for my back and i had lawyer but after 2 yrs later he never did anything to my case he said everything was good so then he got suspended for something and they transfer me to another lawyer so after a couple of months after the lawyer said that they couldn't handle the case because the 1st lawyer never did anything with the insurance so the insurance denied my case.Now i received a letter from a lawyer saying that i have to pay for the treatment that i had for the accident and so i ignore it and now i got a letter from the sheriff saying that i have a warrant arrest and so i called the sheriff and he told me i have to go to court this friday and that i have to bring proof of income.Please help me i dont know what to do.Do i need a lawyer this?

You have three issues here. The first one is the car accident itself. In Massachusetts a lawsuit to recover for injuries must generally be filed within 3 years of the accident, and if you accident was on Jan 1, 2006, then the 3 year mark had already passed. The second issue is that you may have some recourse against your attorney who dropped the ball on your case. You may be able to hold that attorney responsible. The third issue is the doctor taking you to court -- from your description it sounds like the doctor already obtained a judgment against you, which is unfortunate, but it must be dealt with.
