Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts
Arrest Warrant Notice - Massachusetts
Today I received an Arrest Warrant from the Middlesex Sheriff's
Office in
Mass. The warrant states
the following: ''***You need to report to the
Deputy Sheriff located at xxx on xxx
date*** This matter requires your immediate
attention. Please be forewarned that
there is no bail in a contempt of court civil
arrest. Because you have failed to
answer for the alleged contempt of court, you
are now subject to arrest at your
home or place of employment without further
notice. Your failure to appear on this
day will result in you being arrested on sight
and being held in custody until the
next sitting of the court.''
This is a result of a collections agency
(CACH, LLC) tying to collect a debt
from me. I answered the original complaint in
writing but nothing resulted and I
continued to receive harassing calls,
as did my friends, neighbors and
relatives regarding this. I missed my original
court date. I have some questions regarding this.
-Can/will anything happen to me
before the date I must report?
-What will happen when I report?
-What can I do between now and the
report date to help my situation?
-Is there anything I can do to
postpone this?
-Should I contact CACH?

You need to contact a good lawyer immediately! Do this before reporting, but soon. It would help if this lawyer practices consumer law as well.
This offices provides free initial consultations for certain abusiv debt collection practices.

Re: Arrest Warrant Notice - Massachusetts
Usually this centers on a debt, and it suggests your cooperation. It is based on an existing judgment. You can contact the creditor and try to resolve this, you can, if applicable, seeking to remove or vacate the judgment, you can contact a lawyer, and/or contact the Sheriff.
