Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts
Car Repossession
I am a MA resident and my car was repossessed two nights ago without a written notice. Granted I am about 2 months behind on payments according to their records, but they completely disregarded a small payment that I made from the most recent statement they sent me. I do have proof that, that particular payment was taken from my bank account but it never reflected on my auto statement. So I actually only am about a month and 1/2 behind. My next payment isn't due until several days. I am frustrated and have been trying to convince them that they probably made a mistake but they WILL NOT give me the time of day now that my car has been repossessed. Had I received a written notice, I would have tended to the matter immediately instead of waiting for my next paycheck (this weekend). I am seriously considering seeking legal advices. Should I? I am VERY MUCH willing to! I am in MA and if there are any attorney who would like to help me with this case then please provide a law office name/address. My family is not concerned with finances at this point. My credit is being affected for something that may very well be a mistake.
