Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

Collector

I have a collector from a law firm who is abusive and rude. I am trying by best to gather together money to pay this debt, but he leaves rude messages and i don't even want to contact him.

There are laws at both the state & Federal level (both the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act & various provisions of the Code of Massachusetts Regulations) which protect consumers from unfair, abusive & deceptive conduct by collectors/creditors. Please feel free to contact my office for a free initial consult based upon the facts of your specific situation;))

Re: Collector

I'm sorry to hear you are being mistreated by debt collectors. That type of behavior is very common, unfortunately.

You should send a Demand for Validation letter pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I charge my clients a small flat fee for the letter, and can put a stop to all further contact by the debt collection agency. I am able to assess the validity of the debt and either negotiate a payment plan or favorable settlement of the debt.

Please do not hesitate to contact my firm if you would like to discuss this matter further.
