companion credit card

I had a credit card and my boyfriend asked to be put on my credit card as a companion, and I did it. We have spilt up and now he does refuses to pay the balance of his credit card charges. What legal actions can I take? What do I need to make him pay for his charges?

First, REMOVE him as the user on the card!! Second, send him a certified letter totaling all the charges and demanding payment within 30 days. If no payment comes and the debt is under $2000 (or you are willing to accept $2000 as a complete payoff) then you should file a small claims action at the district court where he lives. It will cost you $40 to file, but you will be able to get this back if you win (and it sounds like you should). If the amount is substantially more than $2000, you will need to file your action as a full blown civil case in District Court, and for that I would suggest an attorney. How much does he owe?
