cosigning an auto loan

my parents cosigned a car for my sister when she was 22 years old. she made the first few payments and then stopped. because my parents cosigned they became responsible for the payments. they are still making the payments on the car after 3 years of paying the monthly bill. my sister still refusses to pay for the car. is there anyway to bring her to court and get the money from her to give to my parents because she owes them the money

Re: cosigning an auto loan

The issue of whether or not your parents can maintain an action against your sister for amounts they paid to the auto company depends upon the agreement, if any, between your parents and your sister. Assuming your sister was the primary user of the vehicle, query whether or not your parents can bring an action against your sister for unjust enrichment ( requesting and accepting benefits under circumstances where it would be "unjust" not to pay for such benefits).
