Re: Credit Card Collections

Absolutely not! Your request for them to stop work contact should also be made in writing. You'd be wise to send it certified with a return receipt. If they then continue to contact you at work give this office a call. Be sure and keep a log of all of their contact.

Re: Credit Card Collections

Not if you gave them a proper written notice not to call your place of employment. Retain an attorney to review this. Good Luck!

Re: Credit Card Collections

If the credit card company is the "original creditor" within the scope & meaning of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), then the company falls outside the penumbra of the FDCPA & would not be prohibited from such activity. That's not to say that such activity would not be prohibited by a criminal statute, depending upon the facts and circumstances. Also, such conduct might be prohibited by the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act:)) Please feel free to contact my office for a free initial consult based upon the facts of your specific situation.
