Credit Card Collections
Are credit card companies allowed to continue to call your place of employment to you regarding a deliquent account after you ask them not to and to call you directly?

Absolutely not! Your request for them to stop work contact should also be made in writing. You'd be wise to send it certified with a return receipt. If they then continue to contact you at work give this office a call. Be sure and keep a log of all of their contact.

Not if you gave them a proper written notice not to call your place of employment. Retain an attorney to review this. Good Luck!

If the credit card company is the "original creditor" within the scope & meaning of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), then the company falls outside the penumbra of the FDCPA & would not be prohibited from such activity. That's not to say that such activity would not be prohibited by a criminal statute, depending upon the facts and circumstances.
