Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

Credit card debt

I have been out of work on and off since 04due to a work injury. I have now been out of work for ayear and half. I have not made any payments on my debt. I have not recived any notices either. I wanted to file bankrupcty but couldnt afford to do it. The atty told me not to do anything nor should I pay anything til I get the money to file. I want to get this strees monkey off my back. What do I do?? I am afraid that I will go to jail. I am on workers comp and barely make enough to live as it is.

Re: Credit card debt

It sounds like you may be "judgment proof", which means you have little or no property which can be taken by creditors to satisfy your debts to them. Please feel free to contact my office for a free initial consult based on the facts of your specific situation.
