Re: Credit cards

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Generally speaking, no, depending upon the nature of the purchases ( ie; necessities), and assuming you were not a co-signer on the account. As a caveat, and subject to certain exceptions, the credit card company must present the credit card bill to the executor of your husband's estate within one year of his death.

Re: Credit cards

I am very sorry for the recent loss of your husband.

Whether you are responsible for the credit card debt of your late husband depends upon a number of factors, including (i) whether you were an authorized cardholder, (ii) what purchases were made on the credit cards, and (iii) when.

You may want to run your paperwork by an attorney, if you do not already have one handling your husband's estate, to determine your best course of action.
