can a law firm put a lean on my house if i refuse to pay my dept

Yes, with permission of the court. Attachment on property can be accomplished pre-suit, and other collection means such as trustee process/wage garnishment can be used following successful litigation.

Yes, if the debt is reduced to a judgment, they can get an execution and levy that as a lien on any real estate you own in the name in which the judgment issued. Retain an attorney to assist you in negotating a release of any lien. Good Luck!
