Can I have negative reports from the credit bureaus removed if they're there over 10 years? If so, what's the procedure?

According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a consumer has the right to have negative information removed from his/her credit report seven years from the date of default, subject to certain statutory exceptions,;)
