can a collection agency/law firm have a judgement against me for a credit card debt,without taking me to court?

Absolutely not. Before a judgment can be rendered, both due process and fundamental fairness requires the plaintiff to follow the procedural and Constitutional safeguards of both notice and a right to be heard in a court of competent jurisdiction.
