Re: Debt settlement contracts

You are certainly free to discontinue any payments to this company, but be warned that the consequences will depend upon the terms and conditions of your initial agreement with this company. Please feel free to contact my office for a free initial consult based upon the facts of your specific situation.;))

You can stop, and they will sue you.

Re: Debt settlement contracts

Yes, you can stop. What happens after that depends on what you do. Should you decided to file for bankruptcy, you can not be sued, and you should get some money back. Otherwise, you can request a refund, and try to work with your creditors yourself. I don't know how successful you will be with the request, but it's worth making.
