I am disabled and my wife recently had her wages garnished under court order in Massachusetts. We have contacted the other party several times to try to negotiate, but that attorney will not take the call (nor return a call). How can we get the amount reduced on the bi-weekly pay? We understand the need to repay the debt, but the current amount is killing our ability to stay afloat.

You may want to consider a bankruptcy filing if your financial condition is as bad as it sounds. This would probably allow you to wipe out all your debts, not just the one that took you to court. I know this sounds harsh, and it was not the question you asked, but just think about talking to a good bankruptcy lawyer.
As far as the garnishment goes, make sure the amount is consistent with the new garnishment statute (max. 15%). You can also try going to court and having the judge reduce or eliminate the garnishment depending on your expenses and income. That's about all I can say without getting more information from you.
