Fair Crecit Practices

What recourse do I have when a collection agency attempts to collect a debt that I have disputed 3 times, including submitting certified, return receipt requests for validtion - yet the collection agency posted a negative statement against me referencing the debt is ''in collection''?

You have the option of bringing an action under either or both the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act or the Fair Credit Reporting Act, depending on the specific facts of your situation.
