False Foreclosure on Credit Report
To Whom it may concern:
It has recently (last week of October) come to my attention that there is a false foreclosure of a property listed on my personal credit report. I own a second home along with my husband and to make a long story (somewhat) short:
The home on Cape Cod was purchased in 2000 and the original mortgage and title were in my name only. In the summer of 2001 we proceeded to initiate refinancing and to have my husband added to the mortgage and title (based on advise of our then attorney-he has since passed away.) In the meantime, the original mortgage company ''sold'' it to another and the paperwork was being readied for transfer. The original mortgage company was headquartered in the World Trade Center and the original docs were to be sent to the new company when the towers went down. We did not discover that a lien had been placed upon our title until many months later when we initiated another refi on the property. A local lawyer cleared that issue for us confirming that they received the funds and the title was cleared. We were not aware that a ''foreclosure'' appeared (years later-it was not on my copies as of last year. What can we do to correct this; I've always had impeccable credit-really!
Thank you!

Re: False Foreclosure on Credit Report
You can challenge the entry with the credit card company. You should also contact the company that has made an wrongful or adverse entry on your title or credit card company.
