Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts
A friend owes me a decent amount of money which she isn't paying back. I'd like to take her to court to regain my money. She has claimed she will pay me back even made an agreement she'd pay me $100 every other week and hasn't. I have evidence of all these things. However. She claims to be financially struggling, yet goes out to dinner regularly, gets her hair done, goes shopping (buys gifts for people), buys scratch tickets, etc. Can I use these messages and Facebook posts to prove she must have money to pay me in court if she tries to say she can't afford to pay me?

Sure - the small claims court has a follow up "payment hearing" if you are successful. Just beware that there is no appeal if you lose in the small claims court.
