My husband passed away and I was an aouthorized user on three of his credit cards. I never signed a contract. My husband just put me down as a user. am I liable for his credit catrd balances? I live in Massachusetts

Assuming you were only an authorized user, you are not personally responsible for the debt. The best thing to do is ask the company to send you a copy of any application they claim you signed. When they say they don't have one, tell them to stop calling. Should they persist, get in touch with a good consumer lawyer

The answer depends upon whether you ever used the credit card accounts. Regardless of whether you signed the agreement, the act of making a purchase with a credit card may be viewed as impliedly assenting to the terms of the agreement. Either way, you may want to speak with an attorney to assist you.
You may also want to pull your credit report to see whether the credit is being reported under your name, and then immediately cease making any further payments.
