I believe social security benefits are exempt assets and are not subject to seizure and levy.

If you are being threatened by credit card companies, or more likely, by collection agencies, you should contact an attorney. I help my clients avoid court and help them either reduce or eliminate their debt obligations, often without bankruptcy.
