hi there! i was summoned to court but never received the summons. After further research I found that my summons was sent to my old address. Because my roommate did not forward me my mail can I bring him to court over that?

Your roommate had no legal duty to act as a forwarding agent on your behalf.

You should go to court and fill out a Motion to Remove Default Judgment. The clerk will have you fill out an affidavit indicating why the default judgment should be removed.

Once you have done that, and if default judgment is removed, please see an attorney to assist you in defense of your case.
