Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

My Mother recieved a bill in her name from a Dentist I went to over 3 years ago. I paid all of my bills to them and had insurance at the time too that I gave to them. The bill is under her name and was sent to her in Wisconsin, but the Dentist is in Boston. My Mother has never even been to Boston in the past 6 years and has never lived anywhere but Wisconsin, so obviously she can't have a bill. I have moved since then, but have always had my mail forwarded to my new address and have never recieved a bill from them about this. I also have never changed my phone number and have never been called. If this is a bill that is for me, why would they bill my Mother in Wisconsin, at an address that she just moved to this year and that I never gave them? Also, why would it be in her name? It is all very strange and scary and I am hoping someone can help me. I suppose it could be a fluke and just a complete mistake, but I don't want my Mother to have bad credit or something because of my bills many years ago. Plus I paid all of my bills to them at the time, so I am very confused. She is going to call them in tomorrow to figure this out, but if someone could ease my mind about my Mother's rights and my own that would be so helpful. Thank you!

You or your mother should seek the records and itemized bills that pertain to the recently received bill.
