Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

Moving claim dispute

I recently moved from Boston to Philadelphia. Almost all of my furniture incurred some sort of damage. I did pay for full replacement coverage insurance. Now that I am making a claim, the moving co. says that the burden of proof is on me to get my full replacement cost. This means that I have to pay an additional $300. Is this legal or am I getting the usual Insurance claim run around? Thanks for your help.

Re: Moving claim dispute

Many insurance companies require claimants under a full coverage policy to actually purchase the replacement items and then reimburse. This prevents people from getting overinflated estimates then purchasing the goods for less money and pocketing the difference. If that doesn't answer your question, I do offer free consultations
