Re: should i pay

The statute of limitations on a credit card debt is 6 years pursuant to Massachusetts law. If the debt is time barred based on the 6 year statute of limitations period, the creditor would not be able to bring a collection action on the debt in a Massachusetts court. Let your conscience be your guide. Please feel free to contact my office for a free initial consult based on the facts of your specific situation.

John is correct. The statute of limitations on unsecured credit card debt is six years. However, you may have started the clock running again if, for example, you made a voluntary payment to them at any point over the last six years.

For the cost of one or two of what your monthly credit card payments would be, I could review your both your credit card documents together with credit report, and provide you with an evaluation.

I have been very successful in getting credit card debts reduced or discharged altogether, and in challenging credit card companies and defending debtors against collection agencies and collection suits.

Feel free to contact me.
