Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts
I am separated but not legally divorced. When have lived separately since 2006. I have been unemployed for quite a long time and have gathered alot of debt. Her name is not on any of it anywhere. My question is; If something were to happen to me, could they go after her for my debt? With being unemployed I cannot afford life insurance and am very concerned. Thank you in advance.

No, they can file a claim against your estate, if you have an estate.
Your spouse is not liable for your debt.
As I'm sure you know, if you do not wish to be married any longer, it would be preferable for you become officially divorced. But the previous attorney's answer is correct, your estate would be liable to repay your debts. Your living heirs would not be responsible.
