Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

I was served a summons to my last address in Massachusetts requiring a response to a 4000 credit card debt dated before July 2009. I now reside legally in Australia with my family. I have only a few days to respond. Can I file a motion to dismiss based on jurisdiction? Or, if I respond with an affirmative defense and it goes to court and I live abroad, how does this work? It is very difficult trying to send letters back and forth from Australia.
