wage garnesment

i got a summons to go to court and my boss got one too to take money out of my check how can that be i make just enough to pay my morgate what do i do my boss is really mad about this

You should see a bankruptcy lawyer right away. We can stop the garnishment, and discharge the underlying debt in most cases.

Federal law limits the maximum amount that can be garnished by one or more garnishment orders to 25 percent of your disposable earnings for that week, or the amount by which disposable earnings for that week exceed thirty times the Federal minimum hourly wage, whichever is less. Further, the wage garnishment exemption in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts equals $125 of the debtor's weekly wages.
