Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

water removal from basement

I got $2000 from my insurance co and when I called this co to remove the water from the basement I told them I only had $2000. to pay them and they told me not to worry about it.

Now I get a bill for $3750.00 and I can not pay the additioal $1700.

I did not send them the check of 2000 dollars yet because I think they have lied to me from the beginning.

This co is going to take me to court and I will bring the check for 2000 dollars then. I recv'd the check at the end of Dec. and I have not depositd the check in my account.

Please tell me what I can do because this co is making my blood pressure go up and I can't sleep during the day because of the stress it is causing me.

Thank you,

Donna

If they file a claim, then explain to the court what they promised you. I hope you have something in writing, or witnesses. Not depositing the check from the insurer makes no sense.
