is it worth hiring a lawyer to sue someone i did work for who owes me 2700.00 and he says he wont pay me now because i would not continue to work for him untill he payed me some money

Yes...a good attorney is always helpful. Sure your amount in controversy is small, but an attorney could assist you with a small claim and collection. Why not give a younger attorney a shot at helping you and arrange a fee with him or her which is reflective of the amount.
