Re: 6 year old warrant on dui

It depends on a lot of things. The most important thing is what number DUI it is and whether or not you have a criminal record with a history of defaults. The fact that you have been MIA for 6 years isn't going to help. When you go in to remove your warrant the district attorney may ask for bail.

One way you might able to minimize your risk is to hire an attorney to look at the report and talk to the district attorney before you return to the state that you have the DUI.

Waiting cuts in several different ways. As you read, the problems with a default warrant is the reason(s) why you defaulted, your criminal record, your personal , social and work history.

As both said or hinted, you do need a criminal defense attorney. There are questions whose answers cannot be posted in this site.

If you need such an attorney, contact me.
