Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
Arrest for minor possession/transportation of alchohol
I was arrested last night when I returned to my school parking lot with a case of 30 beers that had an open box; i was moving beers from the box to a backpack. I am 19 years old and an undercover cop wearing a baseball cap shined a flash light, took my drivers license, and within two minutes 6 more cops arrived at the scene. The cop said I have to be 21 to have alcohol and laughed at me saying, ''you fucked yourself over for shitty beer?'' I was cuffed and they just stood there until I asked them to please expedite the process to avoid public humiliation. I was taken to the station, payed bail, and waited three hours for the magistrate to come and let me out. I had never been arrested, I have a clean record (until now) and I have court on Tuesday at 8 AM. I am a student who doesnt want to tell my parents so I won't get a lawyer through them, and I need proof of no money to obtain a free PD. I plan on representing myself and I need to know how to get the best outcome (preferrably continuation without a finding) in court in defending myself, and about what exactly will take place at this court appearence. Thank you so much! - Jonathan

You should really contact a lawyer. He who represents himself usually has a fool for an attorney.
If you want to contact me, you can.
