An admission, which is either a guilty or a continuation without a finding (CWOF), can result in deportation or denial of admission to the United States. A trial is not likely to effect your status, unless you are found guilty. If you are here illegally, the INS might learn of your presence through court proceedings, in which case you might be deported (not because of the trial, but as a result of the trial pointing out to the INS that you are here).

If you cannot afford an attorney, ask for a court appointed attorney. A&B with a dangerous weapon carries up to two and a half years in the house of corrections for a sentence. This is not something to take lightly.
